Tussenstand: een keuze uit de collectie/
Intermission: a Choice from the Collection
In Stedelijk Museum CS is doorlopend aandacht voor werken uit de collectie van het museum. Het gaat hierbij om beeldende kunst, fotografie en vormgeving uit de 20ste en 21ste eeuw. Komende tijd ligt de nadruk op Europees klassiek-modern werk en Amerikaanse kunst van na 1945. Er zijn schilderijen te zien van expressionisten als Kirchner, Kandinsky, Pollock en Appel en de klassiekers Chagall, Malevich en Mondriaan. Ook de Pop Art is goed vertegenwoordigd.

Bij wijze van viering van het honderdste geboortejaar van de abstract-expressionist Willem de Kooning (1904-1997) toont SMCS deze maanden vrijwel al zijn doeken, beelden en werken op papier uit eigen collectie.

Ook aandacht voor het voormalig TPG-gebouw van Piet Elling waar SMCS is gehuisvest.

Stedelijk Museum CS gives ongoing attention to works from the Museum’s collections of 20th and 21st century visual art, photography and design. In the coming months the accent is on European classical-modern work and American art after 1945. Paintings by expressionists such as Kirchner, Kandinsky, Pollock and Appel and classic artists like Chagall, Malevich and Mondriaan are on exhibit. Pop Art is also well represented.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the abstract-expressionist Willem de Kooning (1904-1997), during these months SMCS is showing almost all his canvasses, sculptures and works on paper from its own collection.

Also a tribute to the former TPG-building by Piet Elling that now houses SMCS.
